New speakers on 2015 sound great, except...

The high pass is for when the speaker starts handling the frequency. You can see by your specs that depending on the switch settings it lowers the starting frequency. It doesn't affect the highs. You need to make that adjustment on the treble setting on the speaker. You want to set the high pass to match close to where you have your sub roll off.
I'm starting to wonder if it is more my source than speakers. Most everything I listen to is off my SD card, plus the way some songs are either recorded in the studio or the quality of a particular download. I was playing songs of a CD and it sounded about perfect, so I'm going to compare same songs from CD and SD and see if there is a difference. I also noticed it really seems to be the cymbals crashing on some songs that are too harsh, and then on other songs they seem to be in the background and only barely noticable...

I have the PS 165 Focals and they have a 0 db, -3, and a -6 position switch. When I turned it down to -6, it made a huge difference in the sound of the stock head unit. It allowed me to reintroduce some of the treble on the factory 3 band eq.
Could you put a potentiometer o the wire running to the tweeters, to cut back on the treble?

This is exactly why I went away from the 3-way 6x9 to a component 6.5 and replaced the A pillar tweeters. There was just WAY too much going on up front with all those tweeters.
Also the reason I'm browsing the forums today to deliberate if changing from the AC LC6i to an actual sound processor would improve the consistency between tracks.

But now, Kraken's suggestion doesn't sound too far off base after all.
Kraken - If it was me, I would be trying to disconnect the tweeters on the JBL speaker and replace the tweeters on A pillar with some nice silk dome tweeters.

It's all good! Silly that they would make a 3way completely opposite of the 2way... maybe cuz the 3ways are brighter than the 2ways...?
I hope that disconnecting the stock tweeters will help. I was looking online (Amazon, Crutchfeild and BestBuy) for 3/4" tweeters that might fit right in, but couldn't find a direct fit that has a built in crossover. I wouldn't mind spending $70-80 on some like that if I could find them and if they would actually make a difference.
