In my limited opinion (I'm not a pro or competitor), the FiX is a great piece of kit and will do a LOT of work for you (or the installer in this case). It is not, however, necessary... The Bit One and the proper measurements and knowledge will let you do the same thing manually, but it will take a LOT more work. Not to mention the installer has to know what they're doing.

Having said that, I'll probably buy a FiX and a TwK to have the best of both worlds, once they release the TwK.

The Fix does some things on the de-eq side of life (automatically) that the Bit's, or any other processor out currently don't do, with the exception of the MS-8 - but it is a closed system so it's a bit of a unique piece, but very good in it's own right.

It could well be possible to get close to the Fix's output using various settings and de-tunning in the other processors, but it would be a pretty labour intensive process - one that would cost more in time and frustration (and money) vs the cost of the Fix 82 IMO!

The Fix has the ability to help re-align phase and time of multiple factory channels to get a cleaner output to work with. Time and phase don't show up easily (or at all in some cases) on an RTA that has been the industry standard for measuring and tuning systems for a few decades - so the ability to use the Fix82 to do this quickly, easily and accurately helps a lot - for both installers in time and accuracy, and for the end user in the pocket book and outcome.

If you don't need to Sum, correct for time or phase differences or de-eq then the Fix82 can be overkill. The nice part is it's very easy to hook it up, run the setup process and listen to the difference.

I'm looking forward to the Twk for a full package too though

To a degree you are correct, but the Fix82 does some things automatically that the Bit-One does not. Also the Bit-one has full output processing it can do, so really two different pieces. There are certain applications where you may use a Fix 82 to feed a Bit-One. The amount of time a tech would save on a multi-channel summing application with phase and time shift in play, would far outweighs the cost of buying a Fix82. Not to mention frustration, head aches and eyes and ears going bonkers measuring, looking, adjusting and listening

That makes sense. It's a pretty awesome tool.

So I just got a 2016 with the Sony system and its not very impressive. This item will reproduce a cleaner signal and ultimately will make the system better? I'm not very savvy about this stuff... Sorry

This item will allow you to use aftermarket products with the Sony system more easily. It doesn't help with the factory system to make it sound better, but allows you to easily replace it and add other things you couldn't without it.

What about the XLT non-MFT system? Will it help with that?

I believe so, but I'm not 100% sure... haven't needed to look it up.

The main concern I have if you use the fix system is looking the parking or reverse sensing system signals. Are those only on the rear channel or are they on the front channel too?

Other wise I guess you could use the fix 82 with the digital out into the two-d8 and the. Get your 4 sets of RCAs out... But still why should we be having to buy two pieces of equipment for what the cleansweep did in one... Just my thoughts
