Default New JL Audio OEM Processor!!!

I was bummed when I saw the cleansweep was discontinued, but I'm really happy to see a new, better unit to replace it! Check it out! I will probably grab one of these once I get ready to upgrade my truck.

They mention a control unit, but don't show any pictures of it... maybe they'll pop up soon.

Help me out here...So this allows you to keep your stock head unit....Do you install by cutting all speaker wires from head unit and connect to inputs of this unit? Then run a 4 channel off of the RCA out on the unit?

Yep, this allows you to use your OEM headunit with amps. It takes the speaker outputs of the OEM unit, makes the signal flat (takes out eq added by Ford for their speakers), and gives you RCAs with clean signal to connect your amps to. Look up the JL Audio CleanSweep to get aa better idea.

This may be a dumb question, but with one RCA output, how does fade and balance control work??

Well... it can't. Their last product had two pairs of RCAs... looks like this one only has one... :-/ That's a bummer and devalues the product quite a bit for my uses since I'd have to buy two.

From the product page, check the output options.

Calibration is initiated with just a single button press and takes only about 30 seconds to complete, with no special equipment needed. Output options include dual RCA jacks (4V RMS) or a digital optical (Toslink) output, supporting PCM audio (S/PDIF) 24 bit/48 kHz. Activation methods include 12-volt or automatic (Signal/DC-Offset Sensing), plus a dedicated remote turn-on output is on-hand for controlling your aftermarket equipment.

Edit --------------

nevermind, I guess they dont expect you to fade with a properly staged system

No, you can fade, you'll just have to buy two units... one for fronts, one for rears. :-/

There is a second version called a Fix86 that has 3 pre outs (6 channels) t and can maintain fade, balance and factory subwoofer control if the vehicle has it. The Fix82 also has a digital out for running into other processors with digital inputs etc. Really a matter of choosing the right one for your application - a lot of people don't use fader much anymore, and especially in a system with amplifiers where output level can be adjusted at the amplifiers as needed between front and rear speakers.

Good to know! Thanks for the update. Hard to say when these are actually going to come out, though. :-/
