So they sold me a kenwood double din for there at cost price which is only 200 more than the app radio I already bought. So sorry guys no write up on the radio but FYI the kenwood deck is a better radio in my opinion still does pandora has garmin nav built in and can do bluetooth phone calls and hands free calling from the radio. It's pretty slick. I like it.

Yes you have to install the app on the phone in order for it to work. The problem with the app radio is that you still have to use the phone far too much to use a bunch of functions on the radio, which defeats the purpose of the HU. It looks cool and I'm sure down the road the functionality will improve but I'd wait til they integrate it better. Plus you need to buy a navigation app with a yearly subscription to get voice nav. Hope that helps some.
