Well, I bit the bullet, and strayed away from my original plans, and went a little up the ladder a bit.

After playing with one of these in a local Mobile Audio shop, I was impressed with the speed of the I-pod integration, the bootup time, and so forth. So, I ended up buying this.

Can't wait to get all this installed. It's been a long time (mid 90's) since I've had a decent mobile audio system.
