I distributed JVC in Canada for a couple years and had nothing but great experiences with the quality and service. I have no hesitation recommending there products even though I no longer service them.

Hard to answer that question as distortion is tough to gauge. Will they work? yes. Will they distort at high volume? Likely. That Pioneer speaker set is relatively efficient so I have no hesitation to say they will sound half decent without being amplified.
