Anyways, i have got everything purchased now.

Went with the amp kit and speaker wire in post above.
Rockford Fosgate 360.1
JL J2 320.4 amp (60w x 4ch at 4ohm)
2 sets of Focal 570CA1

Just got back from the auto store picking up some disconnects, inline butt joints for wires (though i don't know if i should use these or solder, i have all the soldering equipment available, just not a heat gun for covering it in heat shrink) and a tool for removing the door panels, the forked screwdriver looking thing...

Ready to go minus figuring out how to get to the back of the stock radio to find the remote wire to tap into, i need to remove that front covering that goes over the radio, hazard light switch, air condition controls, etc...any tips on that?

thanks for all the help.

I highly recommend soldering everything you can. Nothing is more frustrating than having to take the whole truck apart to find a wire pulled out of a crimp.

Good luck on the install.

Yeah, its going to be fun, one last question i forgot to ask about, is there some type of harness i should get for the back, that would 'split' my stuff for me? or should i just get in there and get cutting?

thanks

I think your only option would be to buy a set of the connectors that match the OEM ones and create a harness.

It'd make for a super clean install, but may not be worth it too you.

your probably right, i have very good soldering skills, i fix PCBs for all kinds of computers and other machinery, and even soldered copper water tubing a couple times (though any body could do this), but soldering a single . on a xbox motherboard to hit the d0 line for installing a modchip without bridging connections takes some skill...

if i buy some heat shrink tubing, do you think i can use a basic lighter to shrink it up, as long as i am careful not to actually burn the tubing?

This install is going to be epic!!! I can feel it already, hope it sounds as good as it costed (so far ~700, which really isn't bad considering what i have got, though i am a little worried about where i purchased the speakers from, but if there is any problems, i used my credit card fromt he financial institution i work at, and can EASILY do a chargeback on them)...

My father was career Air Force, so I got membership as a dependent. I've been a member for about 10 years now, it's a great company.

Tell your father that USAA thanks him for both his service to our great country and his membership in our great company...keep your products active, and pass them down to your kids as well.

We are a financial services company, insurance, investments, and banking, and while everyone else was getting bailouts from the govt. and stealing your tax dollars as they were going out of business, we turned a 500 million dollar profit in 2008, and were still able to pay dividends out to all our members. That alone speaks enough to show that we actually know how to run a business...

I have a windows 7 64bit laptop, which is the only one i have with windows, other than that i just run linux and mac...does anyone have any idea if its possible to get the software for the 3sixty.1 working under windows xp emulation mode in the x86 directory? If not, i may have to use bootcamp on my wifes computer and install windows xp on it again...sigh
