Default need help with choosing new speakers

Ok so i am looking at upgrading the speakers in my 06 super cab and i looking at the JBL gto8628 and the Kenwood excelon KFC-X682C. i have prior experience with jbl speakers and they seemed to be good but but i can only find 1 review on them. the kenwoods have all excellent reviews but i have no experience with them. we do not have a sound wall anywhere around here to compare the 2 sets on. i do not want to install components and i do not plan on amping them so they are out of the question. i am just looking for opinions on the 2 speakers and/or recomendations for 6x8 speakers in the same price range. thanks in advance.

Are you running these off a stock or aftermarket head unit? If aftermarket, what is the RMS power rating?

i plan on buying a Kenwood kdc x993 at the same time. i believe the rms is 22 watts with a 50 watt peak.

The reciever's on board amp is only stable down to 4 ohms. A quick search is showing that the JBLs are 2 ohms and the Kenwoods are 3 ohms. You'll risk damaging your receiver if you run those speakers.

What's your price range, and I'll try to steer you in the right direction.

Also, don't completely disregard components. Although I've seen people say on here that you have to have an amplifier, that isn't necessarily true. And if you decide to expand your system down the road, you will have a better core system.

Since your not amping now, pay attention to the sensitivity of each speaker set. The sensitivity is the output of the speaker 1 meter away with 1 watt applied. In general, the higher the sensitivity, the louder a speaker will be when connected to the same amount of power.

You can get into some components, too:

6 1/2": http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+SRQ1620S.html

I do like the Boston's but i think i would rather go with the s85 than s50. i am still trying to stay away from the components sets. the s85 were originally my first choice but the only thing that steered me away from them were the mix reviews.

Where'd you see bad reviews for the S85s?

I would take reviews with a grain of salt on the internet for car audio stuff, it all depends on the listener, some people are more than happy with low grade stuff, and others like $500+ component sets and won't accept anything less.
