I used the Metra 70-1770 in my '97 F150 and it worked great!

Amazon has it for $5.

I bought that one. And it didnt work. I have factory cassette with a 6 disc changer and my factory radio has 2 plugs. The product mentioned above didnt fit either plug. I have bought 3 different adapter harness' and none have worked. Ill take pictures tomorrow of what I have and post them up.

No idea then... Crutchfield recommends the Metra 70-1771 and that didn't work for you either.

Look at the Sticky above "Sticky: 97-03 F150 Audio Basics " and see if it helps. I have a 1998 so according to the link and all the websites I should have used Metra 70-1770 ( 2 connectors) for a 1998. So that's what I bought. But when I actually took out the unit, the plug on the unit mated with a Metra 70-1771 (1 connector) for 1999 to 2003.

do any of you have steering wheel controls, onstar, or factory sound system. all of these play a factor. they can be by passed but can cause issues down the road. Let me know. i installed stereos at best buy for 4 years through high school. now as my own business i install lights, sirens, door poppers etc on police cars, fire trucks etc. Even thought i havent worked their in a few years im still up on knowledge
