Default Need Help with 2 amp install

Sorry to bring up and old topic but i have been surching for 3 hours and i am very confused. so here goes, i have a 2011 screw xlt with sync. plan on changing all four door speakers, either kenwood 3 way 6x8 or polk 2 way 5x7 ( any help there would be good), and already have 2 10 kickers that i am going to put in a down fire box, either make my self or but atrend. what adapter/adapters do i need to keep stock hu and snyc and all that stuff but run a 4 channel alpine amp and a 2 channel punch 360 amp? last full system i built was in 1997 in an old s-10 blazer but it was much easer than this. any one have experance with down fire boxes? blazer had 2 12" and 2 10" kickers in a self made box, and needless to say it was bad azz...

I haven't installed a system in years but All you would need is a remote wire from that head un it to turn your amp on and off. The other for power would just be positive and ground and then of course your speakers. As far as the door speakers I would install a crossover and just add a pair of highs somewhere as well. Look into finding a wiring diagram of your model truck and look for a remote wire on the head unit and that should do it. I hope this helps.

Oh Yeah, Also the set of rca cables. Some head units didn't have them so there is a harness you used to be able to buy to tye into the stock unit. If you don't have inputs on the HU, go to your local auto sound place and tell them thats what you want to do and they should have it.

Your best way is to get a line level converter. It plugs into the speaker wires of the stock system and drops the voltage so you can use RCAs to send signal to your amp.

They make universal ones that you just cut the speaker wires and use butt connectors and for most of the newer stuff they have a harness that just plugs in to your factory wireing. The second option is usaly much more expencive. But it is plug and play. The universal ones are around $50 for al 4 channels and easy as pie to install.

pac make a plug in style adapter that goes between the radio and fords harness, it creates 2 rca outs, and a remote wire out. Just get that, and your amp install kits you'll need and go from there. It worked fantastic for me. If your running 2 amps, your going to have to get rca splitter and split the signal in order to give rca's to all your amps since the harness only has 2

I installed the PAC AOEM-FRD24 and all functions(Sync, steering wheel controls) work perfectly. It is PNP install. Takes about 30 minutes to install and has remote power on wire for the amp. I started with Polk db571 in all 4 doors and really like the sound. Simple install. But later I swapped the front db571 to MM6501 components in the front. Bumped the sound up even more. If you want easy install go with the PAC for input to your sub and install db571 in your doors. But if you want better sound go with components in the front.

I would get a LC2i converter that way in eliminates the need for a remote wire. I just ordered mine today. I have a pac and there alright...just to many wires to deal with IMO.
