Default Need advice on what amplifier to get. Please help

Hey guys I am looking at purchasing this sub box from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-99-Ford-F...-/360458918587

Here is a link to the sub woofer and the specs on the woofer that comes with it:http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Kic...FVNk7AodvDwAzQ

It comes with a kicker cvt 10'' sub. However it doesn't come with a amplifier. I am pretty familiar with wiring in amplifiers and stuff like that, but I am not a pro at matching up subs with the proper amplifier. If someone could please help me with picking out a good quality amplifier for a good price it would be much appreciated. Also if you felt really help full, pointing me in the right direction for a proper wiring harness as well would be awesome. Thanks for any help.

I've recently done an install on my 2014 but was limited to harness's due to the factory amp doing some of the processing of the music signal. If you specify what year and factory stereo(ie Nav,Sync,) you have you'll probably get more help.

you'll need an amp that runs 400w rms @ 4ohm. I know the hifonics brutus line was of good quality a few years back, not sure if they have fallen off or not

Plenty of power and enough if you decide 2 woofers in the future

First off, thank you guys for the responses. Also I messaged the seller and he said that the sub is a kicker 10cvt104. Which I believe is the 4ohms capable model.

@UrbnRzqr- I've upgraded to all pioneer speakers powered by a pioneer amp. I've also upgraded to a pioneer head unit. My truck is a 1998 so she never had the sync options or anything like that.

@zimmer and bsmit 24, thank you for those suggestions. I will greatly consider them. I've also been doing some major google brainstorming and trying to educate my self on how to match amplifiers with subs. This is what I came up with:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...CL-10001D.html
Open to opinions of course.

review seems decent. Would look for a bench test to make sure it makes advertised power but not a bad price

I'll try and find one, but I am very interested in that hifonics amp you posted. The alpine is just out of my budget for this project, but that hifonics has some nice reviews. Not to mention it looks pretty darn cool, which is always a little plus. haha I would just be concerned about making sure I didn't over power the sub with that amp. Seeing that goes up to 450 rms, How would I stop it from getting to much power?

You are better off over powering than under powering. Most blown amp/subs are from under powering and people turning up the input/gain to compensate and frying the sub/amp. The minimum power you want is 75% of the RMS of the impedance you plan to run.

Oh okay, so the little extra power is wanted. Thank you for that information. Since that's the case the hifonics amp is looking like the winner. The reviews on it seem great and the price will make my wallet smile too.

You can avoid overpowering the sub by adjusting the gain.
