Default Neat trick for anti-theft

just thought I would throw this out here for all to see. I just recntly installed a double DIN in my 2003 supercab and it doesn't have a detachable face,... til now

basically, I took the old radio apart, removed the face, hogged it out and place it over the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD. Never seen it anywhere but thought I would share it here with us.

the last picture is of the old volume ****, I shaved it down and hot glued it into place from the back. The old faceplate was then covered on the inside with a black foam pad from the dollar store. Works perfect!!!!

150 guy, the first picture is the completed install, the next is the factory radio faceplate coving the pioneer and the last the factory faceplate hogged out.

I just remove the faceplate when I want to use the radio. When I park the truck just place it over top of the pioneer

For those that do not want to put in the work. They sell the same sort of thing on E-bay for around $15. I am planning on getting one when I do not have a garage any more.

Yours looks pretty cool though. If I still had the original radio I would consider the same thing.

If you want to make it look a little more realistic, cut a cd in half and glue it into the tray so it looks like the radio gets used.

it just sits there. I was going to put a weather strip along the outside edge of the faceplate but there is no room.

I have since added velco to the faceplate (hook style) and a strip down each side of the pioneer trim bezel (the soft part of the velcro) because it is black as well, you can't see it anyhow.

I like the half CD idea.
