Default My Review Sundowns, Precision Power, JL Audio-

My review of the SAZ-1000D, (2) SUNDOWN AUDIO SD-3 10 D4 10",
Precision Power P900.4 900-Watt, JL Audio C5-570(FRONTS), JL Audio C3-570(REARS) Alpines X009-FD2

Important to note is that I'm a Hometheater guy that's built his own HT with SVS subs and Power Sound Audio subs. iv'e nailed down pictures, paintings that hang on the walls throughout my home .

car audio is so much different and way harder to tune- i'm still tuning and learning as i go.... i'm still tuning.

My brief review and what i've learned.

this system pounds thumps and rocks. that said for it to thump i need to listen to RAP music. problem is I hate RAP MUSIC. so what it does do is ROCK-. my taste in music is classic rock along with new country. surprising to me is how little rocking bass is in classic rock compared to new country. you'll need some nice metallica for some heavey kick drum action. or some Pink Floyd gets you some awe inspiring longggg bass guitar notes that seem to drift through-out the truck, notes you can hear and feel. Sam Hunt's song "speakers" does this. the bass note goes right through you. if you have a system put that tarck on.... sounds great!!!!!
classic rock groups like Styx, Journey, Boston and so forth have lower type bass output. but what it does get you is crystal clear loud music. i mean LOUD.

FM radio, HD radio, XM radio is all pretty tough to listen to now. most of my music comes streaming Milk, Pandora and so forth along with my Ipod 120 to 320Kbps....

so am i disappointed, "yes" I am a tad disappointed. but this has nothing to do with the system. being a bass head from HT every movie is mixed with earth shattering bass. even comedy will have some type of pound thrown in..

music is just a different beast then movies. music eras, different genres of music are all mixed differently. this is my own fault as to not know what to expect or for having un-met high HT type expectations.. if i listen to some older frank Sinatra it sounds INCREDIBLE. so clear so like he's in my truck- lol it's just basic mix pure orchestra.....

now don't get me wrong. i love but not LOVE this system. lol. it is what i put on. if i put on some Eminem i LOVE IT. my truck vibrates and Thumps and Thumps. if I put on Styx my Truck sings moving along like a fine tuned orchestra... or ELO..... styx come sail away is unbelievably loud and clear.

so my questions to the people with more knowledge than me are as follows.

Is this car audio.? in other words, it is what you play on the ipod ??

will some Dynamat help in anyway. i really get no noise or rattles from inside the truck...

Teach me

Important to note is i am in no way disappointed in this system. my dissapointment only comes from my own expectations and type of music i listen too. and thats only a tad or so small of a tad dissapointment. like 95% happy, 5% dissapointment. lol.... I love my truck and love this system....

it was worth it and i'd do it again.....

I enjoyed reading your post. You pretty much answered your own question. One thing you might do is install a remote volume control for the subs. A conveniently located **** would let you adjust base volume on the fly.
