My audio build thread
So I decided to upgrade my system in my truck since unfortunately the stock speakers are CRAP!!!! I installed a Kenwood deck I had in it which has rear USB and AUX inputs and has Front/Rear/adjustable Sub outputs as well.
My list of components as of right now include:
Kenwood head unit KDC-X791
Rockford Fosgate Punch 400aIV (2000 era black and grind)
Rockford Fosgate Power 500a2 (200 era black and grind)
Infinity Kappa Perfect Perfect12dVQ (x2)
Boss Audio 3.5 Farad digital capacitor
Im still in the search for new door speakers and will not be using rear fill since they are covered and muffled by the seat anyways.
The enclosure I will be building is a rear firing sealed enclosure with 1.03 cu ft per sub and an integrated amp rack.
I will keep this updated throughout the build with components and box building updates.
Here are some pics of what I have here at the house as of now:

Right now I am bouncing between Kappa 680.9cs components or Reference 6830cs components. I may go ahead an scrap both the ideas and do a glassed kick panel pod for some6.5" components.

I scour the net (craigslist mostly) and find them every now and then. Im happy with the ones I have but I still pick up old school audio for the heck of it every now and then. Best parts is, I have the birth sheets and manuals for both amps.

I expect you to soon be saying this a lot "what I can't hear you." Nice setup. I installed a cheap pioneer 10" with a 500w RMS amp and find it to be plenty of punch and the factory speakers as my mids and highs to be adequate. I use to roll with two 12 Orions but now that I am older I find that my hearing is important to my health, even though I would like tune out the wife sometimes (haha j/k). I can only imagine that your setup will be setting off car alarms from afar.

This will be my most tame system I have ever had. It will be more for sound quality than SPL. I am not into the boomy hear me from a block away stuff anymore. I just want my music to be crisp and sound like in should throughout all the frequencies. Im 30 yrs old now and have kids and a wife so I cant have it to loud lol

cerwin vega subs are usually all around. Theres lots of people that use them in custom home audio apps even though theyre mobile audio. I see PPI amps all the time. The guy I bought my subs and 500a2 from has a 2100 for sale as we speak for 150. Its beautiful.
