Default MDF 6.5 Apeaker Adapters

I purchased some components for the front doors of my truck and am seeking some adapters to fit the 6.5 speakers into the 6x8 F150 factory holes. I could buy the plastic ones online, but does anybody on here know where I can get some quality MDF adapters online?

If somebody on here has made them before and has some MDF laying around and could make me some for a reasonable price, let me know!

Don't use MDF. A truck door is a wet environment. When MDF gets wet it swells leading to warped speaker baskets. I prefer to go to Walmart and buy a plastic cutting board and cut my adapters out of that. If you must use MDF you need to weatherproof it somehow to keeping from absorbing water

I used baltic birch 1/4" plywood but you won't find that at a big box store. The cutting board material is a great idea--they are typically a high-density plastic.

I agree with the two suggestions above.

I've made some out of 1/4" ABS plastic and 1/2" birch ply before and both worked very well for me. It's really not hard to make them yourself.

I had these machined locally out of 1/4" ABS plastic with a CNC Router for $40.00. The black is coated with spray on bed liner.

I did this exact thing for my adapters. Easy and cheap.

Agreed. Plastic will last longer. Go with at least 1/4". I made 4 out of 1/4" black PVC. Traced the hole and used a dremel to cut it. Took less than an hour to make all 4. All in all it Sounds great.
