Maestro Radio Replacement Solution - 2013/14 F150 with 4.3 Inch Screen INSTALLED
I was asked by Mark to evaluate the new dash kit. I have attached a lot of pictures. It is pretty much plug-n-play. All wires are color matched with the HU harness. Flashing the ADS Maestro MMR was extremely easy. You just have to use Internet Explorer to do it, Chrome doesn't work. Once you register and provide the SN of the HU, just follow the steps. Then plug in all the cables and go install everything.
As you can see, when the factory HU was removed you have a large cavern to work with.
The cubby hole is attached with 2 short screws to the back of the dash kit. The 2 USB, 1-3.5 MM, and the HDMI are female made to accept what your new HU has. I used a Kenwood DNX692. That model has 2-USB cables that you can see connected. The 3.5 MM could be used for a video in and the HDMI is self explanatory.
As you can see there a lot of space under the new Kenwood to put all the wiring harnesses, etc.
Last 2 pictures are of the finished product. The climate control is neat. You can use the touch screen also to change the temp and fan speed.

More pictures
Below you will see that ADS has attached the 2 wires that are needed for the gauges, tire pressures etc so all you need to do is plug it in instead of searching for the required wires. Very easy.
A pigtail to convert the factory camera to the yellow camera input on the HU is also provided.
You do need to get your own antenna adapter.
If you have Sirius radio, ADS now makes an adapter to use the factory antenna. No more removing clips...
The dinged up spot on the right is where I had a phone holder stuck on it. I replaced it with a new one when I was done with the installation.

Are you able to keep the rear view camera in the mirror and split it to the radio so both could be used? Like the looks of it. Are those scratches under the radio or just dust with swirls?

I didn't notice the swirls until I took the pictures.
Maybe on the camera. There was one factory connector on mine for the 4.2 inch screen

If you experienced poor satellite sound quality with the oem HU how does the sound quality compare on the Kenwood?

I 100% disagree... XM sounded like a tin can which was a huge disapointment to me. i upgraded my HU to an Alpine X009-FD2 and XM now sounds better or at least as good as FM Radio incl. HD radio but still nowhere near BT or USB....
I had the SiriusXM SXV300 installed and signed up for the 3 free months- with the stock i took the cheapest package i could get.
