Ok finally got it installed !! I ended up using a old laptop windows XP with IE 8 worked fine once I updated al the files. one thing I needed was to update the visual c++ updates there was like 4-5 for 32 bit I needed to install all of them for it to work..... I'm still trying to get car play to work well. I have the setting for sync and not HU but the factory mic doesn't seem to be working. Siri cant hear me at all.... also wish they would added antenna adaptor to the what's needed list, I didn't find out I needed it till I was ready to use it and it was late and couldn't just go buy one. also it didn't click at the time but I wish I had plugged the maestro into one of the usb jacks on the k-150 in dash kit.... I want to change my steering wheels controls but don't want to take it all apart to do so .... would be a nice tip added to the instructions.... just bring in laptop and reflash it while its installed. I guess when I decide to tap into the rear view camera to get it displayed into Kenwood vs rear view mirror ill see what cords are needed and try it then. thanks again for all the help! now im ready to swap out the door speakers ! and maybe add a sub

Glad you got it going! Kinda. Looks like a re-flash is in order to hopefully fix your mic issues. There is a setting for that.

I'm looking into installing this kit in my 2013 xlt. I have done the kicker upgrade and would like to know if there is any way to run the sub off of the sub output on the radio. The kicker system doesn't use any rca's. I have the supercrew so there was a small board that sends the signal to the amp. Anyway to tap into that. I am leaning towards the Kenwood Excelon DNX892.
Also can I flash this with a MAC computer. My only Windows based machine just died.
Thanks Wayne.

You can run rcas from the kicker substage, but youll need to splice into the Substages harness by the sub. Then add a afternarket amp to the substage, op have done the mod with a 400w amp.

OK so if I'm reading this right then I just need an amp and run the rca's to that. If I'm going to do that then I might just take out the Kicker VSS and install all new sub like a sundown 10 or maybe even 2 and new door speaker components and amps. I've already lost part of my hearing anyway.

The kicker upgrade is made for a factory upgrade. If you plan on using a different HU then you might as well replace the door speakers and add the sub on your own. If you like Kicker products you can just get those speakers separately.
