maestro obd2 question

Default maestro obd2 question

Hello new to the forums. You guys that used the maestro whats the best way to tap into obd2 wires? I was told not to use suit case connecters on data wires so gow did u guys do it. If any pics that would be great. I just dont want to mess up that harness.

Just find the wires on the OBD2 connector, use wire strippers to slide the insulation back a bit, and solder them then tape them up.

I actually tapped in a plug, so I could unplug it.

What color are the 2 wires you tap into? Thanks

I think it was in the instructions. There are two communications busses. I think the medium speed bus is the one you want. Grey - Orange and Violet - Orange. Pins 3 and 11.
That is on my 2011.

Scratch that.
Per 12V Guy: It's not medium speed you want. It's high speed pins 6 and 14. See the instructions for the colors.
