how does that sub box even function? isn't the woofer being pressed into the seat? It appears to me like the surround would be rubbing nonstop, and I'd say it's the box causing your sound issues, and not the subwoofer. If you look around, most guys that do underseat, do downfiring for a few reasons. Reason one - you can have around 2"of clearence if the box remains the same heigh as the drivetrain hump. That clearence allows the woofers to move freely. And reason 2 - most say that the sound quality is better off going down, because it isn't messed up my shooting sound into the foam and metal of the seat.
I am new to underseat boxes, and just built my own... but as a car stereo geek, I would say it is the box causing issues, and holding back the sound. As far as loudness between the kicker and RF. MAYBE the kicker would be louder (because that is the nature of the company) but not really in that box.... I would change the box first, before getting a new woofer.
That's my 2 cents

Had a downfire. (its for sale if you know someone who wants it) This upfiring box sounds way better in my opinion. I think ill just keep it, i went with the small shallow sup because i didnt want too much base like i used to have when I had 2 12" in my regular cab...

I adjusted the settings on my amp and its sounding better so ill probably just stick with the P3. Sounds decent, but the quality doesnt sound like my old kickers...(if thats possible) Just goes to show you pay for the name sometimes.
