I am most definitely interested! Shoot me a PM and we'll work out the details!

I just looked up factory stereos for the 2006 Explorer and what I'm seeing doesn't look like it would work in my 2003 F-150. I could be completely wrong though. My stereo uses the 4-hole U-shaped tools to remove it and the ones I saw for the Explorer were held in place with 4 screws under the fascia. I'd hate for you to go to the trouble of shipping that unit here and it not working. I'll post a pic of my stereo after I get off work so you can see if you think it will work.

This is what I took out it does bolt in with 4 screws. Have you took yours out? You may have the framework behind it.

I'll pull mine when I get home from work. If mine is like all the others I've had with the 4 holes, you just insert the release tools and the stereo slides right out. I'm thinking the one you have is actually a true double-din size whereas mine is slightly smaller. If you search Crutchfield for stereos to fit your vehicle, you can select double-din for the 2006 Explorer but not for my 2003 F-150. I contacted Crutchfield about why I couldn't select the DD for mine and they said it wasn't a true DD. I'll check it out when I get home. Even if yours won't work, I greatly appreciate the offer!

The radio in my 04 Explorer looked a lot like yours. Had the 4 holes also. They must have changed up in 06 like the other one.

That's what I'm thinking. A lot of things changed in 06 and apparently the radios were one. I wish mine were like an 06 so I could just slide a full double-din radio in!

Maybe pullapart has an 04 Explorer in dash changer like I had. Can't beat their prices that's certain.

I just checked and mine slides out with the tools so, the radio from the 06 won't work on mine. That's how it usually works out for me! I'll check pullapart and hopefully, the previous poster who had the 6 disc changer will respond. That would be perfect for me!

Apparently, 2003 was the last year of the odd size radio. Crutchfield shows the 2004 and up models as having double-din units available. It was too late to call pullapart but, I'll call them tomorrow and if they have something I'll be rolling their way after work! Wish me luck!
