97 Reg Cab : 2 or 4 Speakers?
Okay guys, this is the deal... I can't remember for the life of me if my 97 Reg Cab Short Bed has 2 or 4 speakers? At the current moment I am stationed in Iraq, so I can't go out to the garage and raise the seat forward to see for myself, and bless my lady's heart, but she doesn't know what she's looking for. I know I have 1 in each door, but I can't remember to save my life if I have 2 behind the seat.
According to Crutchfield, I have all 4 and they measure 6x8. I replaced the stock speakers many many moons ago, but it's just not clicking if it's 2 or 4? I intend on ordering either JL Audio C2-570X's or Alpine SPR-57C's, but I want to replace them all at once, but I don't want to buy 2 sets of speakers if I only need 1. I am ordering them now, because I will be going home in June for R&R for only 2 weeks, and I want to do it while I'm home. Please guys, any help would greatly be appreciated.

The ideal sound for stereo music should feel like you're at a concert, with the stage and speakers in front of you. With frequencies above around 80-100 Hz, you can localize where the sound is coming from. The rear fill pulls where your brain localizes the sound coming from toward the rear of the cab, sometimes behind you. The old saying is "you wouldn't go to a concert and stand with your back to the stage, would you?"
