Little help on a crackling new speaker
Hey all, thanks in advance for any help. I have a 2010 STX SCAB.
I have installed Polk DB571 all around and now the front door speaker is crackling like crazy, but it's intermittent. Crackles on satellite, tuner, cd.
When I installed the speakers I used the connectors that were recommended. The other 3 speakers seem fine.
I have had the door panel off several times, and it appears that the connection is fine, but..... Still crackles.
Anybody have any thoughts?
Once again thanks in advance

Those connectors suck. I used them on all my speakers and I have since removed all but one of them due to the same problem. I just used butt connectors and shrink wrap on all the connections and the problem is gone.

I would REALLY like to not cut into the factory wires....BUT if I have to I will. How difficult is it? I am really a newbie with all of this.
Any more assistance would be helpful

Ok, cut off the connector and soldered the connections. Wire to wire and then wire to speaker terminals. And now.... Still have the crackling. It is still intermittent, but at times it is SO BAD that I have to turn it off. Also seems as though I get some crackling when I go over a bump. Any help? Thoughts?

I would swap speakers right to left and see if it follows the speaker....

I fixed my crackling by shifting the fader fully to the front. Now I have to fiddle with the connector to fix the shaky audio from the driver's side.
I absolutely REFUSE to hack up the wiring on a vehicle that's less than a year old. Hell, I wouldn't even do it on 2004 when I bought it in 2011. I de-soldered the connectors from the factory speakers instead.
