I had this same issue with my left front speaker using the aftermarket Crutchfield adapter with Kicker components. I took the adapter off, moved both prongs towards the side that makes the connection on the factory harness, put a little grease, and plugged it back in.. havent had an issue since I did that.

Same problem with mine. I have determined it's something around that plug in the door jamb. I can wiggle the wires around at that location and make the driver side speaker cut in and out.

A few other guys I work with have the same problem on either the driver or passenger side.
