I was able to get the LCQ-1 quiet, finally. I think it is noisy by nature, but with setting the levels low enough I eliminated this. But in turn I needed more level to get the sound I wanted. Just never could get happy with it.

The LCQ-1 did, however, have punchier bass. I should be able to resolve this with some settings on my Alpine mono amp though.

Also I have decided to mount the JL master control volume tomorrow. You get optimal results using this. So if I am in a mood to really crank it, or if I am showing the system I will use the ****. But under normal operating I will set the **** and just use the factory/steering controls.

Just wanted to share a little more after another day of use.

Etazeta do u have both the cl-ssi and cl441dsp? If so, how did u connect them together? The reason I ask is I never ran a Ign wire with the LCQ1 because of the sense on. I'm just a little confused. I know the 12v together and of course ground but I'm little lost on the Blue and Red wires coming from the SSI and the Red coming from the 441dsp. Can u enlighten me on this please. lol... Thanks

I do have both. The red wire is your remote wire. The blue is remote out. I didn't use it at all. The SSI comes with a plug that directly connects it to the DSP. I mounted my volume **** today and it does make a nice difference. Now I just need to tune my amps and I should be set.

Default Update!

Ok, I finally had some time and installed the JL Audio equiptment and all I can say is what a world of difference! It is simply just a better product than the LCQ1 Period! I will be selling it asap! Much better sound quality and much more powerful and no POP and no noise what so ever! I have some tinkering to do but It's close. I have to run the vloume **** and my amps bass **** also just not sure where. Hey etazeta, where did u end up mounting ur's? Oh, and thanks to etazeta for all the help and testing you have done. It's been very helpful!!
If anyone here is debating weather to go with the LCQ1 or JL just do urself a favor and just buy the JL!!

Mounted here. That volume **** will improve your sound by leaving the HU volume where you calibrated.

That's a clean looking install. Very nice!

I'm glad the JL Cleansweep worked out for you and WGFA. I'd like to try it, but I got everything put back together in my truck and I don't feel like tearing it apart again! My LCQ1 sounds really good - if the Cleansweep sounds that much better, I might give it a shot later on this summer.

Yea, I understand completely about rip'n and tear'n again. Everything is back and in place and lookin good, lol.. But if u get a chance to try it do it. I think u will be pleasantly surprised! I'm wondering if there is a better product out there that could make it sound even better but I am very happy with the JL and at the moment not going to change anything. Now time to run the ***** for my JL and Arc amp.

P.S. I got this thing dialed in pretty good and it sounds great! It's loud and hitting hard!

I calibrated the volume the first time at about 70% max. Noticed some small frequency weirdness when it was cranked up so I recalibrated at about 50%. Huge difference. Much cleaner sound and still more volume than I know what to do with.

Hey WGFA have you noticed the master volume **** cutting in and out? Mine just randomly goes off, then will come back on. I switched the ****, same thing. Switched to another Cleansweep, same thing. That only leaves a bad extension cable I guess. Just annoying.

The only issue I have is at low volume. If there is nothing playing no music or radio anything it turns off or "cuts out". But as soon as any audio starts then it turns back on.
Etazeta when u calibrated this unit, did u have the volume **** hooked up'd? If u did did u have it all the way up to max and then set the volume on the radio to 50%?? How did u have it set-up before u did the calibration. Thanks..

Yes I calibrated with the volume **** hooked up, and set to minimum. Also if you flip the signal sense switch to off I don't think it will cut off with no audio.
