Default Kicker comp 10s vs kicker l5

I'm running two kicker comp 10s now with a 500 watt alpine amp. The cones are about half way blown off my comp 10s they sound terrible. Should I trade for a kicker l5 12" sub? And will my amp push the l5 like it should? He says the l5 holds 600 so it'll just be a little under powered.

How long did the kicker 10's last you? Are you planning on getting a new box for the Kicker 12? There are a lot of better 10 inch subs out there.

I've had the kickers 10s for about two years. Even then I bought them from my buddy used. And yes I will try and fit the l5 under my back seat. He said the box needed work which is no big deal.

Unless you are dead set on switching to the 12" I would stay with 10" and leave the box unaltered.

My 10s slam for what they are. The cones just have holes blowed in them bad and I haven't found anything that holds up to my abuse yet when I try and fix em.
