Looking for installation help. I followed the "no door removal guide" to install the Kicker Hideaway and it is not working.

I have a solid blue LED but zero sound coming from the sub. All the other speakers are working properly. Hopefully it is something simple that I missed as this is my 1st audio install.

Here are the things I double checked to ensure it is correct.

1. Ground is tightly installed on the seat latch.

2. Speaker connections are correct and snug.

3. Tried both auto power options.
3.1. Set to DC with no remote power (blue line). 3.2. Set to 12v with remote power to fuse 96.

4. Checked balance and fade settings.

5. Tried various source options, e.g. Radio, satellite, CD.

6. Checked the fuse in the sub and the fuse on the red power line to the battery.

7. Checked the Input Level is set to Hi.

I would greatly appreciate any insight as to what I may have done wrong or how I can make this sub work.

Is maybe the gain on either the unit or the remote **** turned down all the way? It's been a few days since you posted your problem, hopefully you have gotten it all figured out by now...

Thanks for the reply. I ended up exchanging the speaker at Best Buy. After talking to the Tech Service folks from Kicker we determined it was bad.

The new sub works great. I secured it with the straps to the felt material in the back wall. I also ran the remote switch under the drivers seat and used velcro to mount it to the left side of the floorboard cup holders. Makes it out of sight but still easy to get to.

I'm still adjusting the settings to get the best sound. Overall I am happy with the unit. Great addition to the truck.

This is a great sub for the money. I bought it from Amazon for $250. The guys who installed it at the stereo shop were really impressed. I am running two pairs of Focals PS165 6.5 rounds in the doors, and the Alpine 445U on my stock head unit. I am really pleased with the sound.

I have to play with the settings a little more, but it sounds way better than I thought it would. They had it cranked in the shop playing Robben Ford's "Talk to your Daughter", and it rocked the place. I was setting in the waiting room.

Im new to car audio installs, but I did install this subwoofer into my 2016 XLT using the writeup on this forum. My question for you guys is, what problem will occur if I run my subwoofer on low level input (opposed to hi level) although I have it spliced into the rear speakers? With the k 11s8 sub switched to low level input I get deeper base from the kicker

Just add a high to low adapter

The sub/amp does not have RCA connectors. Does the head unit?

Stock HU's do not have any outputs other than the speakers. You will need this adapter if u want to run low level

Installation Note: The Hideaway™ sub will accept preamp-level signals, but you'll need to connect Kicker's KISL adapter to the sub's 8-foot signal harness so you can plug it into your receiver's preamp outputs.

Wanted mine facing up so I just got longer bolts for the storage compartment and drew it up tight to the rear and added the straps. Seemed like better sound.

And increased storage to the left of it.
