Default Kenwood maestro question

Been searching the forums for a while but I'm a little confused. Does the maestro harness maintain Sat and Sync on all newer Kenwood head units? I just bought the Kenwood DDX471XHD and I can't figure out if the maestro harness will allow me to keep Sync and Sirius with this unit. I have a 2013 5.0 STX with basic stereo,no Nav but with sync.

Thank you for any help, definitely appreciate it.

It allows you to retain Sync, not Sirius... Youll need a new tuner for sirius or xm!

Before you install be sure to flash the Maestro unit via their website..you specifically have to program the unit to keep sync, steering wheel controls.

So the DDX471Hd has the required ports to keep Sirius with the external tuner and the maestro with sync? Was initially confused because older model Kenwood units (prior 2013) only had one port for the maestro harness and it was the same one that the Sat tuner needed to use, so you had to choose between the two. Thanks again for any help.

Yes the new models have 2 ports. Your old Sirius was built into the old HU therefore you need the new Sat tuner.

The DDX471HD is not a serially compatible with Maestro. You can use it, but it won't retain Sync. You need to get one of the radios listed here: http://maestro.idatalink.com/compatible-radios/

Sorry, to break the bad news.

Best,
Dang. I am glad you said that. I was looking at one for your new dash kit. Which one would you recommend to a guy that is really cheap?

Best,
Was worried that would be the case. I just got my maestro harness in today as well, just got to send it back. Think I'm going to find whatever the most basic wiring harness is and go that route. Main priority was to keep Sirius and steering wheel control.
I got the ASWC-1 universal steering wheel control kit. Any idea on a basic wiring harness? Thaks again for the help.
