Kenwood DNX Questions

That SWI 2 wire doesn't need to be connected to anything...just tape it off. At least that's what the guys at ADS told me when I installed mine. If you look in the wiring diagrams there's a chart which will tell you what all the factory wires look like and what they do. For our trucks (I have a 2011) it looks like the SWI 2 isn't used.

I tend to agree that the wire isn't needed, although the instruction call for it. Like I said, everything appears to be working.
Now I just have to figure out the settings and, hopefully, get rid of the quirks.

I have had to change how I access the phone. A little different than before. Also volume issues.
One thing that bugs me a little is when I ask sync to call some one it takes a little longer to make the call and then when sync says calling blah, blah it cuts off part of the person name.
Do a search for all the kenwood/I datalink threads. 12v guy been a great and will help you if you have issues.
I have no regrets doing this, good money.

Just FYI, we made some improvements to the voice volume controls when you dial by voice. It may be better now for you. However, if you are not too bothered by how it is now, there is no need to tear apart your truck to update the Maestro. If you ever want to, just go on the website and re-flash to the most current firmware and let us know if it's less "quirky".
Best regards,

Thanks for everybody's input and thanks to 12V Guy for answering my PM.
Everything works as it should and I am happy with my system (could use some better speakers though).
The Maestro box and T-harness are good products and sure made things easier once you read the instruction a few times and take your time.
My advice: Put everything back together (connect all bezel electrical systems) before checking things out. I did not and had all kinds of issues (airbag light on, headlights on constantly in Auto, no temperature display). Also, the double Din radios are heavy, therefore I installed an additional support strap in the back (they used to supply them with the radios...not anymore).
Thanks again, Hans

ok,,,, that didn't help, but thanks,,,,, I cant find a blue/orange wire anywhere,,,, I don't know where the sync harness is,,, if its the one going into the lil part that says sync where the USB port is mine has 4 wires and none of them are blue and orange....

Thank you, I cut the blue/orange wire, connected it to the pink/red wire and still no voice commands lol. I really suck at this, but atleast everything else works.... Hopefully I cut the right blue and orange wire.... its the lil plug harness of wires right next to the USB plug in up under the dash tray correct.

Which side of the wire did you connect it to? You want to connect it to the steering wheel side, not the side going to the sync module. It's a pain in the *** due to location, the gauge of the wire (very thin), and no slack in the wire. That was the hardest part for me during installation.
