I just installed 4 kenwood KFC 6894 door speakers and now I want to add a subwoofer and amp. Obviously I am staying with the factory non MFT sync system (2013) what would be the best way to hook a subwoofer to this system. I have a pretty good knowledge of stereos but don't know wether there are RCA outs or I need to get signal from elsewhere any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just recently bought my truck and have just today been investigating this same issue. I have a set of subs and amp ready to go but there is just no way replacing the HU w/sync is an option.

There are several different options. some amplifiers have "High Level Inputs" on them that allow you to tie into the rear speaker wires heading to your doors, they will then pull the signal from there just like the would from the RCA's.
Also you can get a module that does that for you as well, some are universal, some are vehicle specific.

I will be posting up a ton of questions later today myself, but I CAN tell you that the Scosche Line Level Adapter has an output for the remote turn-on for your amp. It splices into your speaker wires and has RCA outputs on it as well as the amp remote out. Best Buy carries them for $20. There are a few videos on YouTube about hooking up the converter to a factory head unit.

Although I have a 2011 and not a 2013, I think there probably isn't a lot of differences between the stock factory non-MFT head units.

I used the PAC FRD24 harness to add a subwoofer to my 2011 XLT stock non-MFT head unit. Plug and play, no cutting of any wires. Unplug factory harness from back of head unit and plug it in into one end of the FRD24. Plug the other end of the FRD24 into the head unit where the factory harness came out and bingo: all your existing audio still works and you now have 2 RCA jacks to run one or two subwoofers or an amp from.

I used one Sound Ordnance B-8PTD powered sub that provides just the amount of base that I need. I didn't want window-shattering bass so this was perfect. It fits right behind the back seat, has an auto-turn on if you want to use that, or manual turn on that connects to the remote power on that is on the FRD-24. Let me know if you have specific questions and I'll try to answer them.

Do this. It also supplies a turn on lead. It is supposed to work with 2013 but never tried it. There is a whole thread on the FRD-24

I have the PAC unit in my '13 STX with sync (no touch screen). Works like a champ.

Did you use the PAC AOEM FRD24 ? I have '13 xlt with sync and i wasnt sure if it worked with the head unit or not

The PAC unit WILL NOT work with the 13 with the 4.2 inch screen in the dash. It will work with the base stereo without the screen
