Will this Jensen unit fit in a 97-03 F150? I am not sure it will, but Crutchfield doesnt have it listed, and thats usually what I use for compatibility.

Does the 97-03 F150 have a double din stereo? If so I think it should fit. I also was looking at the Crutchfield site and it also stated it would not fit '05 F150 but it does. If you look at the size section of specifications it has no size listed on the Crutchfiled site. I think this is why it said it would not fit. I just bought an install kit and wire harness and it fit good. I did have to cut the install kit a bit to make it work but it came out okay.

I think for the money this unit can not be beat. Granted if you need navigation, GPS, or Bluetooth capability this is not the unit to get. It does have DVD and back up camera capability and that is all that I needed.

The 97-03s dont have a double din but it is pretty close. I guess I was just being lazy but I checked it out and with some dremel tool work you can jam a double din into a 97. There are even a few adapters out there that will supposedly work as well so I am going to look into that. If any of you 97-03 owners are looking to install a double din as well check out this how-to guide it is really impressive. http://www.f150online.com/forums/hea...ion-guide.html

It is good for the money. I have a few minor beefs with it. Mainly the CD playback, it has a few minor issues with how it functions that are a bit annoying. As a whole pretty good. Easy to hook up a reverse camera and bypass the DVD function so it works all the time. The screen looks good and it seems like it will be pretty solid for a long time to come. Worth the $180 I paid for it.

This is not really the radios fault, but the remote uses a few of the same frequencies as my Sirius remote. So when even I use either remote it will have negative affects on the other unit.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but it is not letting me send you a Pm right now.

I'm thinking of getting the jensen 8020 stereo for my truck.

I saw that you had one in yours and would like to see how it is holding up?

Thanks,
Brandon
