Default Iphone 5S and 2014 F150 XLT

My wife needed a new car so I bought a truck again. Funny how that worked out to my advantage. Anyway it has the new style radio and I have a 5S that when on Bluetooth does not notify me of incoming emails or text messages. It is totally silent until I disconnect the Bluetooth.

So now it is time to get advice instead of give it. Thanks in advance.

Congrats Wyo!

I think it is what it is with the iPhone. When going through bluetooth or wireless, you are not going to hear the notifications. It will however be audible if you use the ear plug or USB.

This is how my iPhone works anyways when using wireless audio in the house or bluetooth in the car, however my car (not Ford) shows notifications for those things via bluetooth and plays it's own sound. I would think Sync would do that as well, just make sure that notifications are turned on in your bluetooth settings.

Enjoy the new ride!

I'm still trying to figure out how he's connecting the phone if not Bluetooth. That is the ONLY way mine gives me messages etc.

Something's amiss.

When I connect the phone to SYNC via Bluetooth I don't get any notifications on SYNC or on my phone of texts or emails. Both are silent. I don't know if I have any messages until I look at my phone.

Try deleting the phone from sync and re-pair it, let it download phone book etc... other than that I got nothing.

Do your fellow drivers a favor and turn your damn phone off while driving if you can't leave it alone.

This will solve your bluetooth problem also............

It's a safety feature built in. Just like how you can use your phone through sync when driving. I can't send texts through sync either.
