Ipad mount for under $20
After watching the different ways these ipad installs were going, I took it upon myself to do it. $15 in metal frame, $4 in bolts and aluminum sleeves.
Custom sized the frame to the iPad. Then I Fein-tooled the slot to slide in and the power adapter slot. Purchased bolts that would ride within the frame rail and sleeves to accept the curved radio face bezel. Took all of 2 hours, tops. Only thing that most of you won't do is drill two holes into your radio trim bezel. The third point I just used hot glue for stability. You could probably use hot glue for all points but I just don't know the long term ability of hot glue on a bumpy daily driver, if it can withstand the terrain.
Last item was getting a switched source to plug in the power cord. When I found it I went ahead and did a second usb for my iPhone so I don't have a cord always plugged into the lighter socket.
Now, when I don't have the ipad in I have complete control of the radio and ac controls.
