Default Installing a JVC Radio on a Friend's Car

Hey yall,

I'm helping a friend save some money by installing a radio for her.
For some ridiculous reason, Best Buy wanted to charge her $300 to install it.

Anyways, the radio is a JVC (Model: KW-R910BT)

Her previous radio, a Sony, works fine.
She only wanted a new one where she can have controls to Pandora, Bluetooth, etc. The Sony radio only has an AUX input.

After getting the correct wiring harness, installation kit, and making all the connections, I turned the car on.

The radio powers on, however I get the following error message:
MISWIRING CHK WIRING THEN RESET

I'm unable to do anything else.

I re-checked the wiring twice and followed the diagram exactly as it says.
I've even cut all wiring on the harness and re-wired again.
I'm still getting the same thing.

I've been searching on Google, downloaded the manual, and it says to check insulation on the speaker terminals?

Not sure why this would be the case.
I connected the old radio back in with the old harness.
The radio and all speakers work fine.

I've done further research and found other sites about other JVC radios (different models) having such problems, but have not seen solutions yet.

I'm hoping someone would know right away what's wrong.

Try returning it for another, but new if still within return time frame! Maybe just a bad hu!

She took it back and the rep there said they've been getting a lot of complaints about it with the same issue. Apparently, there's been issues on the software & firmware which incorrectly detects a miswiring. There's been updates issued, but it'll be more work doing the updates than replacing it.

(Should've said that in the first place).

She swapped it for a Kenwood, and it's good now.
