Yeah I did this intially and took the source input rca directly to my new amp and there was still the static pop on the new amp I never tried it with my sub amp..my new amp may be defective which sucks but oh well guess its time to exchange. I'm going to try a new remote as the last attempt, crazy thing is if the volume is low there is no audibly discernable pop, only happens if the volume is 3 bars are more when I start the engine.

I have read from another post it is due to the delay from the HU and heard people install a resistor inline with the amp turn on lead. The resistor bascially delays the power from getting to the sub untill the audio signal gets there via the RCA's. I've heard it does not damage anything. Mine does it as well. I need to remove the remote wire since its auto power up.

Yeah I'd try a new ground location, I usually just go off one of the seat brackets

If you have to return that cracker jax amp, lol, just kidding then buy 1 with soft start turn functionality. It will internally delay the initial power up a few seconds and you will never get a pop no matter if it is caused by your current amp or not!

Thats what I have now and nope, no popn here
