Ah thanks! I looked under the rear seat on the passenger side b/c that was where it was in my Raptor, so I just assumed they did away with the sub in the newer body style. Preciate it!

Picked up the power stage yesterday on Amazon, arriving today. Super pumped to install it while watching some college football in the garage.
I wanted to use Stage 3, but couldn't pass up the deal on Amazon. $1,040, it dropped over $100 when they only had 1 left to sell. Let's hope it arrives in one piece!

Install complete, ended up coming later on Fed Ex so I did it yesterday. Pretty fun little project, really appreciate OP ears for making the video, really helpful thanks sir.
Really didn't hit any snags, of course the hold your breath when you rip the plastic parts off your dash, that rubber grommet is pretty think to run the power cords through, i just taped them to s long screwdriver.
The custom fit is freakin awesome. It sounds solid. I wish the bass hit a little harder to be honest, but overall I'm happy and paid about $250 less than mostly everyone else.
I think I'll be upgrading the door speakers soon. I would recommend it as an upgrade, I'll take the custom and quality parts over a little better sound and losing space.

Well, my Kicker upgrade system arrived yesterday and I installed it last night after work. It took about 3 hours to install, but over all I am very impressed so far. Much cleaner bass response and the factory speakers have a little more life in them.
That said, I will probably replace the door speakers because they sound a little muddy to me and the mid-ranges could use a little more clarity. Also, when I turn up the volume I can hear the factory paper cones trying to blow themselves out.
All-in-all I do believe that it is very much worth the cost, great sound with seamless factory integration and all storage spaces are kept!

Just installed my vss today in my 16. Install was pretty easy. Took about 4 hours. I was screwing off and taking breaks. Overall, I'm satisfied. I wish the sub was a 10", but the whole system sounds very clean and much better than stock.
What settings is everyone using on the bass/treble/mid? I suggest using driver mode in the sound settings over all seats.

So, I know this is a hard to answer question, but if you replaced the factory speakers and amplified them (like a set of kappas) and added a single similar sized sub, how would you say it would compare to this upgrade, audio wise?
And I'm really wondering how the VSS soundstage system would react to aftermarket speakers.

Have had my Kicker VSS installed in my 2015 XLT for about a year. The sound quality was defiantly an upgrade from the factory but still something was missing. I did the full cabin speaker replacement with Infinity Kappas, but the little amp was just not driving them to their full potential. So I have had installed the following to fix that problem. JL Audio RD900/5 5 Channel Class D Amplifier, pushing 70 watts to the cabin speakers @ 4 Ω and 500 watts to the Kicker Sub @ 2 Ω. Also installed a JL Audio TWK-88 8 Channel Analog System Tuning DSP controlled by TüN software to clean up the signal coming off the factory head unit. Night and Day. I will say 500 watts pushing that 8in subwoofer you can feel it all the way up in the front seat...... Hope that answers your question.
Interesting, this doesn't push too much to the sub and cause any distortion? Did you remove the Kicker amps or how are you putting the power of the JL to the speakers.
