Installed the Kicker VSS Power Stage On My 2015 F-150

So you used the second amp in this system to simply power the factory speakers? Do the tweeters in the A pillar get a boost from that as well?
I was thinking of going with the entire speaker setup since it's only a few bills more than this package.

All the speakers get a boost. The kicker VSS system intercepts the signals going to the speakers, amplifies them, does its signal processing voodoo, and powers the speakers. The sub itself has it's own amp built into the enclosure. If you do get the Powerstage set up and decide to change the door speakers then make sure you let us know how it sounds. I couldn't get a solid response on what it would sound like pushing aftermarket speakers from Kicker or anyone else.

I did the Kicker system in my 13. I got the kit with the new speakers. Glad I did. The stock speakers had paper cones. The kickers were some kind of plastic. I actually didn't use the Kickers in the front doors. I found a set of JL Audio components really cheap and used them. Point is, right now the stock speakers sound good, but they're not designed to be amped and probably won't last as long as aftermarket units. Just my opinion.

So Stage3Motorsports... I am happy to call and find out a better deal. I am really torn on doing this versus using a match system and custom sub but dont want to deal with too much.
Quick question is this a 10" sub? Crutchfield lists as a 10" and Stage3 lists as an 8". If I understand the kit properly and from the video, it seems as though it has everything except for door speakers to interface to the factory system. So 50W per channel for doors and 200W w10" sub and all wiring to make it easy? That almost sells me right there...

The 15 setup is an 8" sub. Has anyone heard both the 15 setup and a 14 down setup to compare them? I was happy with my 14 Kicker setup. Didn't know how much difference in sound you would get with the smaller sub and different placement.

Yep, it's an 8" sub. I haven't heard the previous generation but looking at the pictures of it, the 15' is definitely a smaller inclosure. The nice thing, and something to consider, is that the 15' set up is completely invisible and doesn't use up any space. I may be mistaken but the 14' looks like it uses up some cargo space when the seat is folded up. Keep in mind that the VSS isnt going to rattle the mirrors off but like I said before, I personally think that the sound improvement, ease of install, and keeping all my cargo space was way worth it. It sounds great for what it is.

McCoy that was a great & pretty thorough video; probably the best i've seen on this subject.
would have like to see the hook-up from HU to Sub & Speakers & how it was accomplished...
********BIG THUMBS UP******
DID YOU BY ANY CHANCE NOTICE THE RMS rating for the HU while you had it out ????
I was hoping this was a 10" Sub assembly.
Be Aware that the stock speakers are on rated for 25 watts RMS, could end up popping the crappy speakers.
I've allready changed them out for some JBL's.
That's why i'm looking to go with this or just an amplifier...
"Good JOB" & hope you enjoy the fruits of your labors & skinned knuckles ...

The box under the seat in my 14 didn't bother me too much. It was just the passenger side seat. I am seriously considering trying to retrofit the 14 down system in the 15. Great video BTW.
