Default Installed AVIC Z140...Issues pleas help.

2 items of concern: I used a axxis xsvi-5520-nav harness harness, not the frd-1 as I had no intention of keeping sync. I've seen so many installs on this forum and others that say "built ford tough" on the display screen. Mine says dvd. Did I not remove enough sync parts to make it say BFT?

The other one is the AVIC is not dimming when the head lights come on and I can't dim it manually. On the connection diagnostics on the h/u it says illumination off. Did I miss a wire there too?

Thanks.

I have a Z130 and mine also reads DVD. I also had the dimming issue until they replaced my wiring harness. They said the harness they tried to use originally didn't have the dimming feature. (nor did it have sync)

OK the dimmer issue was an easy fix, just tapped the wire to the brake lights on the passenger side. Still no idea about the DVD display. And for anyone searching the forums for an answer, the factory SIRIUS antenna does work with an aftermarket XM receiver. You just have to take off the yellow plastic cover on the end of the cable.
