Default Install of the Kicker Soundstage Upgrade Kit. Fully Detailed with Pics!

I figure since I have sold over 1,000 of these Kicker upgrade kits, I may as well install one myself. I brought a truck home from the dealership on Friday. It is a 2014 F-150 XLT.

This is the BASE radio.

This is the full kit as it comes shipped from me to you. Also in the pic is the perimeter alarm and bi-directional remote start system, which I am installing as well.

This is what the kit comes with. Kicker 4 channel DSP, all cables necessary for plug and play, nuts, bolts, fuses, and even zip ties. Also comes with 4 Kicker coaxials and the sub/amp combo.

Disconnect the negative battery cable before proceeding with the install.

These are the tools i used for the install. And the instructions that I send out through email.

I started with removing the top cover off the steering column (which i forgot to take a pic), then i took out the two screws holding in the gauge bezel surround.

The bezel then pops out with a gentle tug.

A little pull and the left trim panel pops off. Disconnect the dummy plug.

Remove the fuse panel cover from the passenger floor. Pull the fuse cover. Then pull the airbag fuse #36.

Lower the glove box all the way, look up under the airbag, and see 3 bolts. Remove those 3 bolts, give the airbag a gentle push from inside the dash while holding it from the outside. No need to disconnect the bag. Just sit it about an inch out of its hole. You need just enough room to reach the screw holding the passenger side radio surround.

Remove the cover down on the very bottom of the center stack. No screws, just snaps. Now unscrew the screw that was behind the airbag, holding in the radio bezel surround. Then pull off the right side radio surround piece. Remember to unplug the 12v port.

Pop up the rubber tray below the screen, take out the two screws below. Now pop out the aux input panel, unclip both connectors, and take out that screw as well.

Pull away the radio cover panel, disconnect the two top plugs, and let the panel hang.

Unscrew the 4 screws holding in the radio unit and pull it out.

Run the Kicker cable harness from the radio to the drivers side floor.

Beau, to save you some effort and ALOT of time
Auto Savant already has video's uploaded of the complete subwoofer install.

These are way easier to follow then the instructions, and what I used.
Comes in 3 video's.

Plug the male cable end that was in the back of the radio into the female end that came with the Kicker wiring harness.

Now plug the male end from the Kicker wiring harness into the radio.

Now you can reassemble the radio.
