Default Install aftermarket amp/sub using Stock F150 system

I have an 04 FX4 and I want to put a subwoofer under my rear seat. I found a working 10 inch sub, with a box and amp for $100 cash, but the guy needs to sell it now. Ive heard it and it works great, etc.. but I wondered if I could hook it up to my truck using the stock F150 headunit? I have the 6 disc indash player. Can I just splice one of those converters using the rear speaker wires?

Also the guy has an Infiniti Basslink forsale, and Im going to see if it will fit, but it seems that it's exactly what Im looking for as well.

Rather than using the factory subwoofer, I've decided to go with this -

It was hard not to go with one of the MANY powered subwoofers that would fit, but decided to go with an 8 inch enclosed sub with an aftermarket amp.

Bought that subwoofer + box

That Amp. Have a gauge kit waiting and hopefully will link up to the truck perfectly. Also bought that LoC on ebay for $15.

All said and done everything cost me about $200 shipped. I'm going to go ahead and assume this should be higher quality than the factory setup.. atleast I hope!

You will more than likely be highly disappointed with that amp dude. We used to sell it at Circuit City and I got that thing returned about 70 percent of the time when one of my people sold it.

Well shoot, it's the only one that was within my budget that was a name brand. What would you suggest around the price point then?

Whats your range man? I would suggest spending a little more on the amp than on the subs. My reason for this is if you every decide to upgrade your subs you will have a better amp to work with. I have ordered from this site before and they have really good stuff.

Not much worry about me upgrading! I used to have 2 12s in my old Mustang Cobra and that got obnoxious for me. I swapped them out for an Infinity Basslink and I was more than pleased. I'm honestly really easy to please, I just like a little bit of bass to complement my music sometimes, that's all. Im waiting to hear what the 8 has to offer, but Im definitely up to moving up to a 10. Whatever will fit under that rear driver seat and provide me enough decent thump that you can actually feel a little bit of movement.

For having a truck Im sure looking at having a space crunch where to put this amp! Im thinking about putting it under the drivers seat, because it appears i wont have enough room to put it behind the drivers side rear seat. I was hoping to spend less than $75 on this amp, used obviously. My previous setup in the mustang was two Kicker L7s with a compatible amp

The amp will likely not fit under the seat. I tried that with my Alpine PDX-5 which is a tiny 5 channel amp. It fits under the seat, but you can't slide the seat back anymore because the track hits the top of the amp. You would need a very small very short amp to fit under the seat. The best place to install an amp is on the rear wall behind the back seat. There are a lot of write ups on how to remove the rear back seat, but once its off, there is plenty of room for the amp.
