I always see the negative reviews about sony audio. how their speakers distort, the amps overheat. Although I have sony in my rig with no problems. I was just wondering if sony is so terrible why would they be a stock Ford package?

Probably cheap for Ford to use them. They sound terrible even in the new fords. There's much better out there.

The Vette has a Bose system. It blows something awful.

I don't think the head unit or amps are the problems. I replaced all the speakers in my 2011 F150 Limited and the sound is 10 times better. I did have to use a modified bracket for the front door speakers though, I used seperates (tweeters/woofers) from Infinity. Sounds great now.
