Have you taken the door panel off to look at the actual connector at the speaker? Sounds like it could be moisture inside the door itself... these window strips suck. The inside of my molex was dry as a bone.

Did they do away with the molex connectors for 2013? I just popped the rubber boot out from the door and ran the wire through it into the truck alongside the factory wiring, just like I have for every other system I have run.

Yeah the other night when I was trying to figure out where the problem was I pulled the door panel and found that one of the wires to the main speaker (I have a 6.5" component set) had fallen off because it was really really loose. I got that snugged up and put back together. I didn't see any signs of moisture at that time though.

Was your truck made in Kansas City? As far as I know, it's just the trucks made in Dearborn that have the molex connectors.

Had my driver's side front door speaker out last weekend and was surprised at how much moisture was in there.

I have no idea, and I wouldn't even know how to find out. Never needed to care, but now you have me curious.

I don't know about the KC built trucks, but I know mine is made in Dearborn because there's an oval sticker on the windshield passenger side that says it was made at the Dearborn plant.

I believe it also says on the window sticker from when you bought it where it was manufactured.

Ya, the sticker on my windshield says it was made in Kansas. That's odd that it would be different based on where it was manufactured. I would think it would be the same.

I went ahead and ran all new wires to bypass the molex connectors for the two front speakers today. I ended up drilling through the plastic like in the pictures in this thread, but I did it on the bottom half of the side in the pics. You guys weren't kidding when you said it's a PITA to fish the wires through. Although I found the driver's side more difficult due to having the parking brake there.

When I was in there I looked at my speakers a little more closely for signs of moisture...and I found no evidence of water on the speaker terminals or even in the door.
