I got a realy and hooked it up. Haven't got to really see if it worked or not. Since I had to go to school. Does the relay have to be touching something metal?

Go to AVIC411. Its a website for Pioneer Headunits. I was running an AVIC Z140BH in my 2007 F150. There is a way to move a pin in one of the harnesses, and then just ground out the parking brake wire. They have a full writeup on it. Works like a charm and doesn't cost a cent.

I've seen this thread back when I was hunting an answer down for my radio so I thought it would be very productive to post my experience. I tried the old relay trick on my AVH-X5600BHS with no luck. At first it seemed to work, but after a day of frustration, I finally gave up and called my buddy. He said he got his installed at a local shop that used a bypass from www.diybypass.com. I already had completed my install so I just went and ordered it from amazon and it works amazing! I see people bring this up all of the time here so I just wanted to recommend it so that people don't waste their time with the relay. Here's the info for the item that I bought.
