How to Add AMP To 2013 F150
Long time lurker 1st time poster here.
So far plenty of threads I've seen on this, but no amazing simple solutions. Am I missing something?
I'm looking for any input on what is the best approach to add an amp (or amps) to my stock 2013 F150 SCrew EB. I really NEED (aka want) better than stock speakers, and would really like a sub.
Would prefer a PAC adapter solution (but it doesn't fit my 2013) for the amps so I don't have to splice into the factory wiring.
I'd love a new head unit too, but buying the aftermarket dash kit is frustrating to have to plunk down an extra $300 or so for it just to then have to buy a HU. So, not as likely to do that.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Rob

I bought two sets of these and these are a simple install in eash door. The upgrade here alone was noticeable. http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-A6886R-4-Way-Speaker-Set/dp/B014Z7J6HQ
These are on their way and should be here Monday. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005ZI5HXW/ref=ya_st_dp_summary
I just ordered this to go behind the rear seat as I still want to have space under the seats and reviews on this are awesome. It's not going to rattle license plates, but will fill the range out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BO8O9XQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1461901090&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=kenwood+ksc-sw11&dpPl=1&dpID=51jtXrWCZdL&ref=plSrch
These made installing the door speakers a breeze. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001OAB6BW/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Once I am done all the speakers will have been upgraded. I did a ton of research on these speakers and for the price I truly believe I found the best for the money. I know there will be different opinions here, but I have gone through countless audio website reviews and user reviews. This will also all be done for under $300.
Now if I can figure out where to tap for power on the sub.

I bought two NVX amps and installed them in the center instrument panel below the cubby in my XLT. One is a 4 channel for the doors, the other is a monoblock for my 10" SW which fits under the pass back seat.
Amps fit under and behind the cubby. Makes for short wire runs.
Homemade SW box.
In place. I painted it black.

Also, do you need to hook the tweeters up to their own channel or do they draw off the front door speakers?

The 4 channel is for the door speakers. The tweeters run from crossovers installed in the doors. In post #4 there is a pic of the tweeter in the 'sail' part of the door panel:

That is not my install BTW.
Both amps will accept low or high level inputs. I think the Alpine has a lot less power (180W) and it is a lot bigger. You will need to run an 8 ga wire thru a 50A fuse to run both amps.
When you thing about all the wiring you would have to do to install amps on the back wall of the cab, I think my approach makes a lot of sense.

I like this option Wyo11...I hadn't seen that harness before. Thanks a bunch!
I'll likely pursue it with my alpine mrp-f300 amp for the door speaks, along with a 10'' amp/sub combo that fits nicely under the rear seats.
I guess for the 2nd sub amp, I just t-tap into the Parrot FOR-11CK harness?
Now to figure out what speakers to put in the doors...any recommendations?
Thanks again!

Rear door speakers would be handiest.

Polk, Alpine and higher end models. Just about every speaker has been discussed on this forum.
