I played with all of the sub settings on the HU. I really didn't make much difference!

Sounds like something is wired outta phase or something. Cant believe there is no bass with all that!! I would double check your connections on everything to ensure its all wired properly......I know from experience that if you get one set of wires switched it will throw it all off. In fact, I thought that when I installed my radio in my 02.....I used the speaker adapter harness and it sounded out of phase.....no bass.

Anyway, make sure all wires are + to + and - to - and that should help. You might have to look at a ford wiring diagram to ensure proper wiring.

All of the outputs from the HU, are going straight to the amp. From there, all wires have been pulled from the speakers. The factory harness is basically disconnected!

Thanks

Not to change the subject but how are those infinity 680s? Those are the ones i'm planning on running in my lightning? Hope you fix your problem because they look like nice speakers. I've always used infinity or polk audio and have never had any problems! Hope it goes well

Ya'll will think I'm crazy but stock stereo's will (a lot of the time) sound like they have more bass thank aftermarket speakers. The reasoning is even though it's a cheapo speaker, it's designed to work in that particular vehicle/space and most head units from the factory have a built in bass boost at lower volume levels. 95% of the time when someone changes out their factory speakers they complain about the low end that is lost. Now keep in mind, it sounds 180% better overall, but people want low end.

well, I think the stock speakers have a higher efficiency level.....which makes them louder at a given volume, but they cannot handle much power.

This is because many people mistake volume for quality. My brother was trying to show me his system was just as good as mine by showing me how loud it would go... *facepalm*

The Infinity's are great for the high's, but there is very little mid to low end bass. I have a new 5 channel amp on the way, hopefully it will fix my problem!

I got a Kicker 10ZX700.5 from Crutchfield, for 329.99. It sounds great. Crutchfield was happy to take back the Alpine amp, & helped me find one that matched up with my HU. The Alpine amp did not match up good with my HU, do to the 5v input signal. The 5 channel also allowed me to hook my rear speakers, & sub up together.

I located my tweeters just to the front of my interior door handles. It was the only place that I found that looked & mounted, without many mods.
