When I wired mine up, the two Black wires I used are Negative and the Red and Yellow are positive.

Factory Sub wiring looks like:

+ purple with green tracer
- green with white tracer
&
+ green with purple tracer
- gray

The rca has 2 black wires and then a white and red for positive. a red and black is one channel and the white and black is another.

That's fantastic....you are a life saver! Thanks so much. I can't wait to install this stuff once it comes in.

Good luck, just tear into it and you'll get it figured out!

Yeah thanks, that's what I'm hoping will happen! Not my first rodeo, but it is my first with a stock head unit and having to get the signal elsewhere.

Where are you getting the signal from? The factory sub wiring harness? What year is your truck? You left out some important details that would make it easier for people to help.

ah sorry, yes I am using the signal from the factory sub harness into the LOC. My truck is a 2014 fx4 with the 8 inch MFT and Sony stereo upgrade. I had seen it done before this way so I can't figure out why it isn't working

thanks

Hmmm that is weird. The only difference is you have the MFT but if you said you followed someone else do it then that's weird. It could be your LOC...I know the cheap ones have a reputation to do that sometimes. Could just be a faulty one. If the wires are hooked up right then there doesn't leave much else. Have you tried to take the signal from the rear speakers instead to see if you get the same result?

well at first I tried running the sub wires directly into the high level inputs and it made that sound as well, I haven't tried taking the signal from the door speakers but that'll take a little bit of time that I'll have to find lol don't have much time working as much as I do and going to school

Before changing where you get your signal from, make sure your gain isn't too high on both the LOC and the amp. You might be overpowering the speaker.

I would then make sure your speaker connections are solid and not moving around while the sub is playing.

After that , double-check your ground wire. Make sure it is 18" or shorter and mounted to the body securely and cleanly. Make sure it's not mounted on a painted or greasy surface.
