The guts in the Slundqubed amps are identical to the guts in the Hifonics Brutus series amps

Are you adding the xps as a second battery or replacing the stock battery under the hood?

ehhh somewhat identical. The boards are the same, but the components within the amps are a bit different. The quality of the capicitors, the fets, the powersupplies.

Really depends upon the situation in which you were to drive them. I've seen several setups with the HDS2 series woofers, in a pair, being driven by the SQ2200...far too much power for them. Clean power at that, on healthy electrical systems. The HDS3's, on the other hand, take the power a bit better. The SQ1200 is a really nice amp for the price though, but for the money, the PPI 1000.1 is the top choice here. Especially at a price point below $200. Considering picking one up myself to run a single 10 in my pickup.

Thinking just a second battery. The shop told me just add a cap and it will be good to go but from what I been reading that's false lol.

Yea, even going up on price the ppi seems to be the choice. Found a Rockford for a little more but it is bottom line Rockford after researching most say it sucks as well. Think I will go with ppi and if it over heats etc will just bite the bullet and get a quality amp. thank you all for the advice

Found a massive audio n3 for a good price, like how small it is.. So looks like I will flip a coin on the ppi and n3.

Pairing a regular battery with an AGM is usually not a good idea. Most guys, including myself, run 2000 watts with a good AGM under the hood and the big 3.

And yeah caps are pretty pointless.

I use a Deka "intimidator" AGM under the hood on my 2002. I believe it's a group 65.

Sams Club sells Duracell AGM batteries for a pretty good price

O'Reillys has a pretty decent AGM. It's what I run in my truck. Duralast Platinum or something like that.
