help!! 1997 f150 aftermarket headunit wiring

Default help!! 1997 f150 aftermarket headunit wiring

i go the old 6 disc cd player with casset player out of the truck and i had 3 wires coming from the old one the antenna and 2 diffrent ones. and the new stereo only takes one and neither will fit i had some diffrent adapters but i cant figure it out. I know that the new stereo and old one have diffrent wires and dont know what wire goes to what wire.

Without pictures of all the harnesses, it's difficult to tell. You are probably going to be better off getting an aftermarket radio.

When you say there is 3 wires coming out of the back of the radio I assume you mean there is the antenna and 2 other plugs, and the other plug have multile wires coming out of them. There were 2 different harnesses for that truck if I remember correctly. One version had 2 rectangular plugs and usually one was grey and the other black. And the upgraded radios had a more square shaped plug. If it is the square plug, look down in the cavity where the radio is, there is the rectangular plugs a little lower. I hope this makes sense, easier to talk about than try and typing it.
