This is just a theory but they might have excluded the XLT because some XLTs will have the basic stereo and not be compatible therefore it will not work with all XLTs. The models listed come with at least the 4.2" stereo or higher model stereo therefore there's no confusion on whether or not they will be compatible. I think they should have listed "XLT (w/4.2" stereo only)" at the top of the list....

Or maybe they just figured us guys with XLTs are poor and can't afford something priced so ridiculously high.

I might pay 3400 for this plus the appropriate matching Alpine replacement speakers, amps, sub and enclosure installed... but I am a do-it-yourselfer... I am thinking 300 or less for the kit from idatalink, about 1000 or less for the Kenwood navigation and putting it in myself. If anyone is reading that has influence over pricing. This is where I am looking to be.

I have an XLT and the Kenwood/idatalink that you mention and am VERY happy with it.

Ok but you don't have the 4.2" screen those of us have that want the add on nav, you have the old style dash. 2013-2014 are the only years that would benefit from the mod being discussed.

Not that I would pay 3400 for a HU.

Default question

I have a 2013 F150 XLT with the 4.2 screen. Why can't we just use a dash bezel from a 2013 Ford F150 platinum, switch out our a/c controls into the bottom of it to retain the ***** like we have(left one is fan and right is temp)and use the huge opening in the top to mount an aftermarket nav unit (Alpine, Kenwoood, etc). What would we lose other than the stupid "sync" crap?
