Head Unit Reverse Trigger Power
#11
Can anyone tell me which wire in the kick panel (drivers or passenger?) is the reverse wire? I need to tap into this wire for the reverse wire on my Kenwood head unit, which triggers the screen to go to the backup camera. I have an 05
FYI, at least on the Kenwoods (mine is DDX5901) you can create a shortcut that will change it to the reverse camera at any time. Mine is holding down the telephone button. You just have to use the constant hot wire on the trailer connector for the backup camera lead. No external switches necessary

Nah, the backup camera will be to a switched 12v source, as I want to be able to turn the camera on at any time (not just in reverse). My Kenwood has a reverse wire that will turn the camera display on, so I'm trying to locate any wire in the dash or kick panel that is for reverse. Anyone??

I ended up running a wire from my reverse light, to my HU reverse trigger, FWIW. So many wires up front, and most of them are all bundled up pretty tightly. I didn't care to make a mess of them searching for a reverse wire.
