Todd, you're missing a HUGE point in all of this... The complete dash on trucks with nav is completely different from all of the others. Not just the head unit itself... All of the ***** and buttons below are completely different. There is not an aftermarket dash kit that matches the dash on F150s with navigation.

Let's add some visuals...

Non-nav dash: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.crutchfieldonlin e.com%2FImageBank%2Fv20150513112100%2FImageHandler %2Fscale%2F978%2F978%2Fcore%2Flearn%2Farticle%2F33 30%2Fradio2.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.crutchf ield.com%2FISEO-rgbtcspd%2Flearn%2F2009-2012-ford-f-150-super-cab.html&docid=ELBccpwVbPG9JM&tbnid=n9j5CrAEsIhnXM %3A&w=978&h=733&client=ms-android-verizon&bih=652&biw=412&ved=0ahUKEwjGrd7sh7rMAhUBg CYKHXQBBPsQMwgmKAswCw&iact=mrc&uact=8

Nav dash: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.blogcdn.com%2Fwww.a utoblog.com%2Fmedia%2F2011%2F05%2Flead5-2011-ford-f-150-harley-davidson.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoblog.c om%2F2011%2F05%2F04%2F2011-ford-f-150-harley-davidson-w-video%2F&docid=na9R9-JhksC9-M&tbnid=NlADrZ2AQ73qwM%3A&w=616&h=347&client=ms-android-verizon&bih=652&biw=412&ved=0ahUKEwjGrd7sh7rMAhUBg CYKHXQBBPsQMwgpKA4wDg&iact=mrc&uact=8

They are completely different, and no one yet makes a dash kit for factory nav dashes... Only non-nav.

I think your trying to do something Like this: There was a LOT involved with this. This is in a 2011. The Radio is the Alpine 9" u009.

Exactly! Did you have the dash custom made?

I hade to make it... The control board with the A/C and Radio controls are all one piece. I had to cut that in half. It wasn't too bad. The circuit board itself is actually two pieces, but the plastic housing is one piece. What I did was buy a complete bezel off of ebay that had all the AC/Radio controls in it and start chopping away. Alpine does NOT, or at least did not at the time have a bezel that would work. Their Perfect Fit Bezels are for trucks that come without the Nav system. Big difference. Once you get the controller board to fit in, you have to cut up where the radio will fit in and "glue" in the radio surround that comes with the radio. Then you start filling and sanding and filling and sanding and then you have to have it wrapped or hydro-dipped or something. And during all of this, you have to consider where the radio is going to sit in the dash. my dash was torn apart for about a month.

Exactly. No one makes one for the systems with factory nav that I can find.

Thanks so much for the post, nuthingoesrite. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain how you worked around it.

I'm debating on how much of this I want to go through... I think I'll probably just upgrade everything using the stock system for now and if I get to the point that I need to upgrade the head unit (I suspect Bluetooth tech will surpass the current HU in a year or three), see if anything has come out then. I doubt it will, but maybe...

You could always do something like the above pic... (Sorry its sideways) This was my first attempt. I used an Alpine Processor, The PHE 800. I moved the Traction control/hazard switches and put the processor controller above the screen, and it looked good, and you could set up the processor to get the sound you want, but once the 9" screen came out, I decided that's what I wanted. I still have all of the equipment and will be selling it soon. To install a processor, you have to pull the outputs from the stock sony amp under the console and "plug" them into the inputs of the processor. This will restore what the stock Sony clips at certain levels and lets you add your amps and everything else. Good Luck.

Your welcome. As I said, you have to know How To Use A Search Feature! Lol...

I believe the Milano Maple, is 2hats in your 12 Platinum.

Lol, dude, you're an idiot. There is NO option to replace the factory headunit of the sony system with navigation. Well, there is one option, with Alpine, but it's like a $2000 contraption.

Sadly, even Alpine doesn't have one according to Crutchfield.
